Research
At Prevayl Innovations, we believe in the utmost transparency and credibility in our solutions. That's why independent, third-party validation holds a pivotal role in our research and development process. By collaborating with esteemed third parties, we ensure that our accuracy claims are backed by unbiased assessments and comprehensive evaluations.
To determine the accuracy of our R-R intervals and heart rate algorithm, we’re partnered with Bournemouth University to validate our heart rate monitors against 3-lead ECG on a sample of 35 people wearing Smart T-Shirts and Sports Bras from our Concept Range.

INDEPENDENTLY PROVING OUR ACCURACY
Independent, third-party validation is crucial to underpin our accuracy claims. The outcomes of a recent study conducted by Bournemouth University serve as a testament to the exceptional product we have developed. These results speak for themselves, demonstrating our successful integration of a clinical-grade ECG into a connected garment.
Research protocol:
Spearheaded by world-renowned Dr Andrew Calloway, Principle Academic & Director of Human Performance Laboratories, Bournemouth University
Unrivalled, rigorous testing protocol including:
Longer test duration – 15 minutes of treadmill running
Faster speeds – up to 12kph – only limited by participants ability to maintain speed
Comparison with raw ECG – utilising a 3-lead clinical-grade product
Connected garments rather than chest straps – testing our full product range and IP portfolio to the max
Results:
High correlation between raw beat count found using ECG and Prevayl (r = 0.94, p < 0.01)
High correlation between heart rate (BPM) from ECG and Prevayl algorithm (r = 0.96, p < 0.01)
